Wayline Studio turns your travels into personal wall art. Whether it is three weeks of backpacking through Asia, a road trip around Iceland or island hopping in Greece: we draw your route on a real map, print it in 3D and place it on the poster by hand. Your journey sits on heavy paper as a tactile, matte relief, framed and ready to hang.

Any trip with a route: round trips, road trips by car or camper, interrail, island hopping, sailing trips, treks and cycling or motorbike tours. We 3D print flights and boat trips too, so your whole journey is on the poster. Not sure? Send us a message, we are happy to help.

There are two ways, both with the same result:

Design first, then order. You create your poster in our designer, see a preview right away and then add it to your cart. Once you have paid, we get started straight away.

Order first, design later. You choose your size and check out. Your confirmation email contains a personal link; use it to design your poster whenever it suits you.

You have four options:

Polarsteps: upload the export of your trip (see below how to download it).
GPX file: from Komoot, Google My Maps or another route app.
Enter it yourself: type the places you visited and we draw the route along the roads in between.
Example trip: have a look around first with one of our example trips.

Did you travel with Polarsteps? Then request a copy of your data in the app. It contains the files you upload while designing.

1. Open Polarsteps, go to your profile and tap the gear icon at the top right.

2. Tap Account.

3. Under Privacy, tap Download my data.

4. Open the download, go to the trip folder and then the folder of your trip. You will find two files there:

trip.json is required: it holds your stops, place names and dates. locations.json is optional: that is your GPS track. Without it, we draw the route along the roads between your stops.

Tip: you can also do this on the Polarsteps website (Profile, Settings, Privacy). The download link is usually available right away.

Yes. In the designer, choose Enter it yourself and type the places in the order you visited them. For each leg you choose how you travelled: by road, by boat or by plane. We draw the route; the result is just as beautiful.

They are 3D printed too, each with its own shape: a flight as a low arc and a boat trip as a wave. Your route over land stands tallest, so it stays the star. At a glance you see how you travelled.

Classic: the map with your route, with the title and your travel numbers below it, optionally with an elevation profile.

With photos: the map at the top, a band with your travel details and below it one landscape photo or two or three portrait photos, right to the edge. The band comes in seven colours, and the photos can be set in blue duotone or black and white.

A title, a line above it (for example the dates of your trip) and up to four travel numbers of your choice: days, nights, places, countries, kilometres, miles, elevation gain or a value of your own. The texts can be in English, Dutch, German or French. Anything you leave empty disappears from the poster.

Five map styles, from light and calm to dark: Muted Colormap, Gallery Minimalist, Alpine Contour, Architectural Mono and Stealth Studio. The route comes in orange, red, pink, yellow or black; the compass and the elevation profile follow the same colour.

Photos straight from your phone are almost always fine. The designer checks every photo right away and warns you if it is too small or not sharp enough for the size. Tip: use the original, not a photo sent via WhatsApp or Instagram, as those have been downsized.

Yes. You see every change right away in the preview, and your design is saved automatically. So feel free to try things out and continue later.

The Desk Edition (frame 32 × 23 cm): subtle, ideal for a desk or sideboard. The Statement Edition (frame 42 × 32 cm): an eye-catcher on the wall. Both designs, with or without photos, come in both sizes.

Yes, that is the heart of Wayline Studio. The route is printed precisely in 3D from a matte material and placed on the paper by hand. You can see and feel it. Every poster is unique.

Oak, white and black. You choose the frame in the shop, and you can still change it in the designer. Every poster comes framed.

We make and ship your poster within 2 to 4 business days after you have finished your design. After that it usually reaches you within 1 to 2 business days in the Netherlands, 3 to 6 in the rest of the EU and 7 to 14 elsewhere. You will receive a tracking link as soon as it is on its way.

If you designed first and then ordered, we start right after payment and the design is final; that is why the designer asks you to confirm beforehand. If you ordered first, you can make changes via your link until you submit the design. Something wrong after all? Get in touch as soon as possible and we will see what is still possible.

They are included in the price. You pay no separate shipping costs at checkout, wherever we deliver. There are no extra costs when redeeming a gift card either.

Not from this shop. You can order a Wayline poster through the Etsy shop of our sister brand, Segment Studio.

Yes. From two posters you get 10% off, applied automatically in your cart.

The gift card is sent digitally by email, on a date of your choice if you like. The recipient chooses the size and designs their own poster. The card is valid for 24 months.

Every poster is made especially for you and therefore cannot be returned. Did it arrive damaged, or is something not right? Take a photo and let us know within 14 days, and we will replace the poster or refund you.
